Founding and Mission

New Horizons was founded in December 2022 with a commitment to supporting young people and adults with learning disabilities, complex needs, and autism. As a non-profit organisation, we strive to provide high-quality care and a welcoming environment for all our service users. Our mission is to empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives through tailored support and inclusive practices.

About Our Services

We provide dedicated support for young people and adults aged 18 years and over. Our aim is to enhance the quality of life for our service users through various activities and community engagement.

Operating Hours

Our centre is open all year round, from Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, excluding Bank Holidays. Please note that we are closed for one week over the Christmas period.

Facilities

Our facility is equipped with a variety of amenities to support our service users:

  • Games Room: A space for recreational activities and social interaction.
  • Sensory Room: Designed to stimulate the senses and provide a calming environment.
  • Garden Area: An outdoor space for relaxation and horticultural activities.
  • Kitchen: Available for cooking sessions and meal preparation.

New Horizons Extra: A Sanctuary for Leisure, Recreation, and Hobby-Based Activities

Are you looking for a safe and welcoming space where adults with disabilities and their carers can engage in enriching activities? New Horizons Extra offers just that, creating an inclusive community where everyone can enjoy a variety of social, recreational, and hobby-based experiences. Operating Monday to Friday during term time from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, we provide a sanctuary for relaxation, creativity, and fun.

    • Our garden provides a peaceful outdoor setting where participants can enjoy nature, participate in gardening activities, or simply relax in a beautiful, green environment.

  4. Music:

    • Music is a universal language that can uplift spirits and foster connection. We offer musical activities that range from listening sessions to interactive music-making, allowing everyone to find joy in sound.

  5. Baking:

    • In our fully equipped kitchen, participants can engage in baking sessions, learning new recipes and enjoying the process of creating delicious treats. It’s a fun way to develop new skills and share the joy of food.

  6. Games Room:

    • Our games room is stocked with a variety of board games, card games, and other fun activities. It’s a great place to engage in friendly competition, improve cognitive skills, and socialise with peers.

  7. Barbecues in Summer:

    • During the summer months, we host barbecues in our garden, providing a wonderful opportunity to enjoy good food and great company in the warm weather.

Schedule and Costs:

  • Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
  • Time: 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM
  • Cost: £20 per session, which includes drinks and snacks. This fee ensures that participants have access to all activities and amenities, making it an excellent value for the diverse range of experiences offered.
